AUTO TECHNICIAN TUITION REIMBURSEMENT AND INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Opportunity:

•  Up to $12,000 Tuition Reimbursement

•  Competitively Paid Part-Time Apprenticeship while attending school, flexible schedule and ability to work additional hours during school breaks, plus accrue Paid Time Off

•  Mac Tools Master Kit with Tech Box to use throughout the apprenticeship; upon graduation and completion of the Lee Johnson prerequisites, the graduate will receive his/her own Mac Tools Master Kit and Tech box! (Valued at over $12,000!)

Eligibility Requirements:

•  Applicant must be currently enrolled/attending or accepted into an accredited Automotive Technology program at a local school (Renton Tech, Shoreline Community College, Lake Washington Technical College, South Seattle College, Skagit Valley College)

•  Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (if already attending auto tech program)

•  Applicant must have an insurable driving record

•  Applicant must pass applicable background check and drug test

•  Applicant must be available to work at least 20 hours per week on average (flexible depending on school schedule)

Application Requirements:

1.  Provide 2 letters of recommendation (from current/past employers and/or instructors) describing your work ethic and character.

2.  Provide a written statement (in no more than 1 page) of why you want to be an automotive technician.

3.  Complete Lee Johnson Auto Family employment application.

4.  If currently enrolled/attending program, provide transcript and attendance records.

5.  If already accepted into a program, provide proof of acceptance and expected start date.

Terms and Conditions:

•  Student will apply for the tuition reimbursement and paid apprenticeship program in one application (see application details below), unless already employed by Lee Johnson Auto Family.

•  Hours per week and overall length of apprenticeship are flexible and can be negotiated between the student and dealership to accommodate the needs of both parties. The minimum apprenticeship length must equate to one school quarter, but there is no minimum hours worked requirement.

•  If the student chooses to work 30+ hours per week during the apprenticeship, they will be eligible for benefits.

•  The apprenticeship wage is negotiable depending on experience.

•  During the apprenticeship, student will accrue paid time off.

•  In order to maintain eligibility for tuition reimbursement, student must:
•  Maintain a minimum 95% attendance at school
•  Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
•  Maintain an insurable driving record
•  Maintain employment with dealership

•  Tuition will be reimbursed each quarter, following submission of GPA and attendance records, plus documentation of payment of tuition for the prior quarter. The maximum total reimbursement will be $12,000 over the term of the program.

•  Apprentice will be eligible for full-time employment upon graduation. If apprentice becomes a full-time auto technician employee at Lee Johnson, he/she will be given a Mac Tools Master Kit with Tech Box, see tool allowance document for complete details.
